Scholarship Selection Criteria
Introduction
This document defines the procedure for selecting the annual winners of the Charles G. Collins Foundation Scholarship.
This financial award will be presented annually to a United States American College Graduate Student who is working on a Master Degree or PhD Degree in Agriculture, Medicine, Sciences or Space at a Certified University in the United States of America.
Criteria for selection will be based on the following four points:
- Financial Need
- Academic Performance in Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
- Contribution to the Community outside of Academic Studies
- Writing of three 500 Words or less Essays. We will be looking at English Grammar, Style, Logic, Organization, Persuasion and Content.
Academic Performance
All Undergraduate and Graduate Grades will be normalized to a 4.0 Basis and aligned in order from 4.0 to the bottom.
Three Essay Requirement
- Describe in a 500 words or less Essay on Page 2 of 5 Pages your contribution to your Community or Others during your Undergraduate and / or Graduate years. This category can include contributions in Sports, Religion, Politics, and Other Beneficial Activities to the Community and Members of the Community.
- Write an Essay in 500 word or less on Page 3 of 5 about your plans for the future and how you plan to use your Masters or Doctorate Degree(s).
- Write an Essay in 500 Words or less on Page 4 of 5 about any hardship, small or big, you had and how you overcame the hardship. Tell what you have learned from this experience. And use this Essay to tell us about yourself.
